A thought that just came to me on watching the movie..Benigni tries(and succeeds) throughout the movie in keeping his son ignorant about all the malpractices in the world(remember... jews and dogs not alowed??) and the troubles they are caught up in.. for the kid.. life is all rosy...i was wondering if this is the right thing to do? he does have to live in this world and see the real picture after all.. if he is kept ignorant from the 'real picture', wont he find it difficult to deal with later, when he is forced to face the reality, especially when even his father is not going to be there with him anymore?? Or is it better to tell your child about whatever crap the world has to offer and teach him how to live beautifully even in "un-perfect" world??
The basic theme would be depicting how a person can endeavour staying happy and spirited in the most difficult situations, not losin hope, still lookin forward to a bright future...turnin dreadful reality into a beautiful enthrallin fairy tale...
But i believe, it's vitally important to bring up the child in the right manner at the right age with the right kind of support and need. Well, I believe.
"Being Positive" can fetch one many good things and that's what I feel has been Emphasised in this movie!
Only if one is Positive can one be Happy,
Only if one is Happy can one have Hope,
Only if one has Hope can one live Life,
And only if one Live Life can "Life Be Beautiful" !!!
the film is not about the father and the son they r just the metaphor in the film..the film says no matter how dificult the path is just move on with a smile on ur face..now here smile doesnt mean strechin ur lips it means deal with the tough in an intelligent and calm way and cumover all dificulties with ease
The name says it all.... Life is beautiful n its only in our hands to make it beautiful!
